Modesty - An Interview with "Designed For Grace"
Hey Gurls!
I am so excited for this blog post because it is all on the topic of "Modesty". If you are new to the topic of modesty, welcome! Modesty is a topic and dress code that I believe all Christian girls should know about! Modesty is HARDLY spoken about in our materialistic culture, but as Christian Girls striving to be God's servants, modesty is a big topic that EVERY girl should know about.
I also had the privilege to interview Emily Grace (oh my gosh we share the same last name!) from "Designed for Grace"! She has an awesome Instagram and blog about this topic! So definitely please go follow her!

Get to know Emily...
I'm a California girl that loves traveling with my family, singing in my worship band at church, and taking creative photos. My goal with this blog is to inspire girls to dress modestly while looking stylish and adorable in the process. I want to help girls to understand the "why" behind dressing modestly. My blogs will mostly be about fashion and traveling 😊
Q&A with Emily Grace!
1. Why have you chosen to dress modestly?
I think girls look way prettier when they dress pretty feminine clothing instead of hardly anything. I dress modestly because I understand God's big purpose of clothing and I desire to honor God with my life. I want to point others to Christ and not my body. I dress modestly because I love God and want to reflect Him well in the way I represent Him. 😊 "Girl Defined" has been a big influence for me aswell.
2. Why do you believe it's important to dress modestly as Christian girls?
We are representing Christ with our actions, with the way we speak, and the way we dress. I dress modestly cause it makes me feel beautiful and reflects who I am on the inside. I think it's important because we are representing Christ with what we wear 😊
3. Any tips on girls wanting that first step to dressing modestly?
I’ve learned that it takes a lot of creativity to dress fashionably and modestly. It’s not impossible, it just takes extra work. When I see a new fashion trend hit the stores, I creatively think of ways to make that trend work in a modest way. Also, to look for style mentors who you admire their modest clothing would really help.
4. What are some of your favourite clothing pieces in dressing modestly?
I absolutely love denim jackets or plaid buttoned up shirts tied around waist. I love wearing long cardigans, for the winter and summer time. I have one that's long sleeve and another one that is short sleeve. And I love wearing camisoles! I literally wear them every single day and it's so perfect for coverage on top or if you're ever wearing a shorter top. 😊
5. Your favourite Bible Verses on Modesty?
"Don’t copy the behaviour and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect." - Romans 12:2
"Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth." - Colossians 3:2
6. Anything you wanted to talk about on "Modesty"?
For me, I appreciate modesty and I'm passionate about fashion. A lot of girls struggle to dress stylish in today's immodest culture, so I wanted to share my thoughts and ideas in hopes that other girls will be inspired.
